It's a very customizable parametric 3D modeling software. (Openscad being quite complicated for non-programmers, I think that FreeCad would be a great alternative for any amateur wanting to create their own BitBeam parts.

Hi, you are free to use anything to create new parts. But for official set, programming like modelling is good way, how to apply all improvements to every parts in official set (more than 500 at this moment).

And if you want to add some new part to official set, just sent the STL, if it will be useful, i'll make OpenSCAD version for you ;-)

If there are potential users of bitbeam which are already familiar with FreeCAD, it might not be a bad idea to create a convertor. Script which would use the bitbeam lib to create a FreeCAD file. Either accept input arguments which directly translate to openscad functions. Or to have a predefined "enum" of the basic set parts from the catalog bb-D-10x7x6 (or are those the serialized opensacd function args directly? :D), or introduce eg integer part ids might not be a bad idea ~ like LEGO has both part "name" and its "id".

Then the convertor script would either accept args for just one part, or a set of multiple, generating a FreeCAD file for the user to directly start to modify for they needs. I guess that is what Jojo might have wanted?
